George Michael's Tour Fortune

George Michael made a staggering £48 million from two years of touring.

The 'Faith' singer's latest accounts show he banked £48,499,893 between April 2006 and March 2008. This figure doesn't include revenue from record sales or songwriting.

In 2006, George returned to the stage after a 15-year absence for his '25 Live' tour, which involved 50 concerts across Europe, North America and Canada.

The 45-year-old star - whose earning figures were filed by his own company Twentyfive Live - also earned millions from playing private shows for some of the world's wealthiest people.

On New Year's Eve 2006, George was paid £1.6 million to perform 13 songs at a party for Russian nickel magnate Vladimir Potanin and a few months later was given £1.5 million to sing at the 55th birthday party of Sir Philip Green, the owner British fashion store Topshop.

George is not the first star to earn vast amounts of money for one-off concerts.

Last year, it was revealed Amy Winehouse was paid £1 million to perform in an old Russian bus garage for Daria 'Dasha' Zhukova - the girlfriend of Chelsea Football Club owner, billionaire Roman Abramovich.

The Rolling Stones were paid a total of £4.4 million for playing at the 60th birthday bash of billionaire David Bonderman.
