Hayden Panettiere's Early Love Letdown

Hayden Panettiere was attracted to her first crush because he was so good at "kickball".

The 'Heroes' actress - whose relationship with co-star Milo Ventimiglia ended earlier this year - was besotted with the boy because of his brilliant sports skills, but was left crushed when she realised he was more interested in her best friend.

He was such a jock, such a stud - you know, for someone in the second grade. But I think he knew. I think he was pretty aware of it.

She revealed: "My biggest crush was in the second grade on this kid named Mike. He was really good at kickball.

"Mike had a crush on my friend though. I was jealous, so I told her that he told me that he had a crush on both of us. So it made me feel a little bit better about the whole thing."

Despite obsessing about Mike, the 19-year-old actress admits she was too embarrassed to ever tell him how she felt.

Hayden explained to E!: "He was such a jock, such a stud - you know, for someone in the second grade. But I think he knew. I think he was pretty aware of it."
