Carly and Deano struggle to take in the information that Kevin has told them. Kevin tries to explain things to Carly and Deano. Carly demands that he get Shirley back – she’ll give them the answers they want. Shirley drops another bombshell to Deano and Carly. Deano is devastated by the news and runs off. Carly stops Kevin from going after him – she goes herself. Shirley and Kevin are left numb. Denise is scared when she returns home to find a devastated Kevin. She pushes to know what is wrong. Denise tries to console Kevin. Kevin tells her that they hate him. Carly returns home worried that she can’t find Deano. Deano pours his pain killers into his hand and considers taking them until he spots a bottle of paraffin. Shirley is drinking heavily at the bar whilst looking at a locket. Deano breaks into the Car lot and starts pouring the paraffin everywhere. Deano tries to light a match but is interrupted by Kevin’s arrival. Deano manages to light the match but Kevin tries to stop him. Deano finally breaks down and Kevin holds him as he cries. Carly rushes to the door thinking that it might be Deano – it’s a drunken Shirley. Shirley drunkenly tries to talk to Carly as Kevin brings Deano home. They all turn on Shirley and Carly tells her to disappear again.The solicitor tells Ian that he is responsible for upholding Pauline’s wishes about her house. Martin is upset about Pauline’s decisions and tries to persuade Ian to ignore the will. Ian is insistent that he should respect Pauline’s wishes. Martin is furious and storms out. Martin goes to the allotment only to find Deano sitting inside the shed drinking. Martin refuses a drink. Jane encourages Ian to forget the will but he tells her he has to respect Pauline’s wishes. Martin receives Pauline’s ashes from the funeral director – he places the urn on the mantelpiece. Dot arrives and Martin explains that he thinks Pauline would want to be in the house. They talk. Dot tells him that he has to take a stand and not let Pauline run his life anymore – she’s gone. Dawn and Rob race to look respectable as May enters – she notices that Dawn is a little flushed and suggests that she come down to the surgery. Rob approaches Dawn, who tells him that the sneaking around is too much – Rob has to leave May.Abi and Ben plot ways to get rid of Stella. Abi suggests poisoning the chicken that Stella is making. Ben is helping Stella make dinner. He wants strawberries in the trifle. When she leaves he turns the oven up to full. Rob is speechless as Ben shouts down from upstairs that there is a fire. Peggy finds the kitchen full of smoke. Ben innocently reveals that Stella went out. He tells Peggy he doesn’t feel well. Phil is furious with Stella as Ben exaggerates his cough. Stella tries to plead her innocence suggesting that Ben turned the oven up. Phil and Peggy won’t hear of it. Phil demands that she leave. Stella hurries out leaving Ben smiling. Phil finds Stella, she tries to tell him that Ben is playing him for a fool but Phil can’t see it. She can’t believe that Phil is going to let Ben split them up but Phil is adamant. Stella exits the Vic with her bags. She looks up to the window to find a smiling Ben waving at her.
