Jennifer Lopez's birthday charity donation

Jennifer Lopez has stunned friends by asking them to donate money to charity instead of giving her birthday presents.

For her recent 35th birthday, the sexy star - renowned for her lavish lifestyle - asked well-wishers to give cash to the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

A friend said: "Is this he same Jennifer who spent all her free time racking up expensive birthday gifts from ex Ben Affleck, including a five-carat ring and a Bentley convertible?"

But the star did celebrate her birthday with two big parties - one with 25 relatives at a Los Angeles restaurant and the second at a plush nightclub with her husband, Marc Anthony.

Meanwhile, J.Lo's mother, Guadalupe, reportedly admitted she missed Affleck - for his habit of showering her with presents.

Marc, who, unlike Affleck, is not a gambler and is allegedly less flashy with his cash.
