John Cusack has taken out a restraining order against an obsessed fan.The 'High Fidelity' actor - who turns 40 on Wednesday (28.06.06) - filed legal papers in a Los Angeles court after the woman allegedly showed an "unusual interest" in him.The order accuses Emily Leatherman of "stalking, throwing long letters of interest over his fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside and making unannounced visits to offices of people he works with in an attempt to meet with him." It also claims the unnamed 32-year-old - who has no fixed address - recently gave Cusack's home address as her own.In a written statement, he explained to the court: "Mail addressed to her has been arriving at my residence without my permission. I have never met this person."However, the actor did reveal that the fan "had not committed or threatened any violence against him" although he said she has "caused emotional distress to him and vowed to hurt herself if he did not agree to meet with her."As a result of the restraining order, Leatherman must stay now at least 500 feet away from Cusack's home, workplace and car.
