Johnny Depp to dress up as woman on 'Little Britain'

Johnny Depp wants to dress up as a woman and star in cult British TV comedy 'Little Britain'.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor has asked for a guest spot on the hit show and its creators, David Walliams and Matt Lucas, say they are working frantically to make his dream a reality.

Lucas revealed: "We're looking into it. It would be great of Johnny could appear."

The Hollywood heartthrob has even created a role for himself and reportedly wants to play a friend to Walliams' character Emily - a transvestite dressed in a turn-of-the-century ladies' dress.

Meanwhile, Depp has revealed he based his sinister Willy Wonka character in forthcoming movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' on shock rocker Marilyn Manson.

The Oscar-nominated star reportedly says he wanted to give the flamboyant factory owner a darker edge and thought Manson was the perfect muse.

Depp has used a rock star for inspiration before when he based pirate Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' on wildman Rolling Stone guitarist Keith Richards.

A source said: "He has his music and pictures in his trailer to help get in character. He's making Willy far more sinister than before and there's a little of Marilyn in there."
