Tunstall And Hartnett Join Global Green Push.Singer KT TUNSTALL has teamed up with Hollywood hunk JOSH HARTNETT to launch an environmental campaign asking a billion people to reduce the carbon emissions they release into the atmosphere. The stars hope their green initiative, on behalf of the Global Cool organisation, will help tackle global warming issues.Tunstall and Hartnett are asking fans to switch to low-energy lightbulbs and unplug electronic devices when they're not being used.Tunstall says, "If you left your house and your neighbour called you and said 'Your oven is on,' you wouldn't stay at work you would go home and switch it off. That, for me, is a simple analogy."The SUDDENLY I SEE singer admits she's getting involved in the environmental initiative because she's beginning to realise the impact her own energy use is having on the planet. She adds, "The amount of carbon emissions used by a successful music artist is really considerable. But responsibility is spreading."Meanwhile, Hartnett explains, "You can reduce your carbon emissions by about two tons a year. I was amazed at how easy it is."
