Kate Hudson says her mother, Goldie Hawn, did everything she could to stop her from acting.The 'You, Me and Dupree' star - a Golden Globe winning actress - is often compared to her mother. But Goldie, 50, turned down Kate's first acting role and kept it a secret from her.Kate told Scotland's Daily Record newspaper: "I begged her. I wanted to act. And she kept telling me 'no'." When she was 11 Goldie let her daughter audition for a TV show but she didn't tell Kate she got the part - instead she turned it down and kept it a secret for a year.But the 27-year-old 'Almost Famous' star said she was not cross with her mother when she found out the truth.Meanwhile, Kate's co-stars in 'You, Me and Dupree' Matt Dillon and Owen Wilson have both confessed to having crushes on her.The beautiful blonde said: "Maybe it has to something to do with the fact that I'm half-naked for half this movie.

"It could have something to do with me being in my underwear for a lot of the time.

"I've always been very open with my body."
