Keith Richards' name made him "sick".
The Rolling Stones guitarist was so enamoured with blues music when he was younger he longed for a more exotic moniker and tried his best to come up with a more exciting title.
He explained: "It made me sick - my name's Keith Richards. It hardly makes it against Howlin' Wolf or Muddy Waters does it?
"On my first guitar I had 'Boy Blue' written on it - just pathetic. But that was as good as I got at the time."
The 65-year-old musician was so obsessed with the genre, he even resorted to staling other people's records in order to broaden his collection.
He added to British TV show 'Blues Britannia: Can Blue Men Sing the Whites?': "We would borrow records and lend records. Some guys had interesting sounds and you sort of gravitated towards people who had a collection of records. And you try to steal one here and there."
