Kevin Bacon would love to make a romantic comedy - but no one will let him.The 'Sleepers' star - famous for playing paedophiles and psychopaths - keeps trying to audition for fun films, but casting directors don't think he is suitable.Kevin told Britain's Independent newspaper: "I'm the go-to intense kind of guy right now, but I really feel I'd like to lighten up. I was up for a couple of comedies this year and they were great parts and stories, but in both cases, the studio was like, 'Kevin Bacon? We don't think so.' "At every point in my life when I've got stuck in one thing, I know I need to change it up a little bit. I'd love to do something funny or something romantic. I'm always thinking about trying to surprise the audience with something different than what they're expecting."The 49-year-old star has also revealed he believes he can exorcise his own personal demons through his acting.Bacon - who won critical acclaim for his portrayal of a convicted sex offender in 'The Woodsman' - said: "I really believe that all of us have a lot of darkness in our souls."Anger, rage, fear, sadness. I don't think that's only reserved for people who have horrible upbringings. I think it really exists and is part of the human condition. I think in the course of your life you figure out ways to deal with that.
