Khloe Kardashian would "like to think divorce is not an option" for her and Lamar Odom.
The 27-year-old business woman - who recently announced she and her basketball player husband were taking a break from their E! TV show 'Khloe & Lamar' - is taking a step back from the spotlight so not to risk damaging their relationship.
She told PEOPLE in an exclusive interview: "I'm a modern girl, but you should put your husband first. I like to think divorce is not an option."
While her sister Kim prepares to battle estranged husband Kris Humphries in court over their short-lived marriage, Khloe says her 32-year-old sportsman partner needed to focus on his career.
She admitted: "We just wanted to prioritize a little. We just wanted a little pause. Part of being married is knowing when your husband needs your support."
Last month Lamar was put on the inactive list for his team Dallas Mavericks and now the pair won't have a hefty filming schedule on top of their separate areas of work she confessed "there's less pressure on us."
Meanwhile, a source told RadarOnline.com that their marriage could be doomed if Lamar doesn't get signed to play for a team in Los Angeles.
They said: "Khloe is freaked out that if Lamar doesn't sign with either the Lakers or possibly the Clippers, her marriage will be over. She doesn't feel that their marriage can handle another stressful move to another city. It's not because she doesn't support Lamar, she moved with him to Dallas, but it's all Odom."
