Ulrich Muehe Has Died

German actor Ulrich Muehe has died. He was 54. Muehe, the star of Oscar-winning film The Lives of Others, died at his home in Saxony-Anhalt Germany, on Sunday (22Jul07). He had been receiving treatment for stomach cancer. Despite his illness, Muehe flew to Hollywood with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck in April (07) to see The Lives of Others win the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.He also won the Best Actor prize at the European Film Awards in 2006. He is survived by his wife and their two children, plus another child from his earlier marriage to actress Jenny Grollmann.
