TV's latest Superman is set to take the caped superhero to the big screen after
reportedly landing a leading role in new movie Justice League Of America.
Smallville star Tom Welling is in talks to play Clark Kent/Superman after
producers opted not to use the new movie Man of Steel, Brandon Routh, in their
film.
Website iesb reports Welling will double-up as Superman in Smallville and
Justice League at the same time.Production on the film, which brings superheroes like Batman and Superman
together on the big screen, is set to begin at the beginning of 2008.
Superman returns was released in 2006 and was the first Superman movie since Christopher
Reeve made the part his own.Usual Suspects and X-Men director Bryan Singer, who had wanted to direct Superman since he was a child,
cast an unknown in Brandon Routh fot the lead role.The film grossed over $200m at the worldwide box office on its release.
