Doug (Duncan Preston) is still keen to stick around in the village but Hilary (Paula Wilcox) is adamant that they're going home. He suggests renting their house out and getting a job in Emmerdale but Hilary is unrepentent. However, Doug is determined and offers up his services to Pollard (Chris Chittell) who gives him a trial period. Is Doug getting closer to having his own way for once?Elsewhere, Paul (Mathew Bose) stands firm on his unwillingness to forgive Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) and questions how Rodney (Patrick Mower) can. Incredulous to learn that Nicola married an elderly man, Paul scathingly questions her motives. Things later reach boiling point and when brother and sister clash, Rodney is forced to intervene. Will he be made to choose sides?Meanwhile, Jack (Clive Hornby) arrives in Margate to see a shocked but pleased Diane (Elizabeth Estensen). As they talk, Diane realises that an explanation is long overdue when it becomes clear that Jack thinks her cancer has returned, causing her strange behaviour. Will she be forced into revealing the truth?
