Lemar wishes he had written Marvin Gaye's track 'Sexual Healing'.

The British soul singer claims the 1982 track is one of his favourites because it is "completely timeless", and hopes he will one day pen a song which is equally as impressive.

He said: "Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing' is the one song I wish I could have written. I think it's the best song ever. It's great because it is completely timeless. Although the song has various sounds, which are very of its time, it sounds just as fresh as anything that's coming out at the moment."

He added to: Coldplay are probably my favourite band

Lemar also revealed his musical tastes span all genres, and he finds it strange that so many people expect him to only like soul music as that is what he sings.

He added to: "Coldplay are probably my favourite band. People always assume that because I make a certain type of music, I don't listen to other stuff, but I love bands like The Killers and Snow Patrol."
