Leonard Nimoy can't do his trademark Mr Spock 'V-sign' - because arthritis makes it too painful. But the 'Star Trek' star has made light of his condition in new TV advert for a US painkiller. The ad - which was screened on US television for the first time during the Super Bowl - features Nimoy speaking to his agent about the problem and telling him it's too painful to do the split-fingered sign at Trekkie conventions. The agent suggests he try the new pill. The star then raises his hand in front of a crowd of fans and manages to give the Vulcan salute - to the delight of fans, who break out into riotous applause.Meanwhile, Nimoy has produced a book of photographs - of fat-bottomed naked girls. The 74-year-old said his models - all members of the Fat Bottom Revue - were happy to pose for him.

He is quoted in Britain's Daily Sport newspaper as saying: "They are interested in fat liberation. Their self-esteem is strong.

"Too many people suffer because the body they live in is not the body in magazines."
