Lily Allen's Confusion Over ' Why Her U.s. Visa Was Revoked.Lily Allen has "no idea" why her U.S. work visa was revoked, dismissing reports it's a result of her March (07) arrest for attacking a photographer.The Smile singer was detained by customs and immigration officials in Los Angeles on Sunday (05Aug07), as she flew in from Australia for the MTV Video Music Awards nominations party on Tuesday (07Aug07).Early reports suggested officials were alerted by Allen's arrest in London.She was cautioned for the incident after voluntarily attending a police station in June.But Allen insists the two events are unrelated.A statement released by her record label EMI states the singer "has no idea why she was singled out for such treatment". EMI insists it is hopeful of securing her work visa in time for her scheduled U.S. gigs next month (Sep07).Meanwhile American fans of Lily Allen have attacked their government for revoking the British singer's U.S. visa.

Allen was allowed entry to the country when she landed at Los Angeles on Sunday (5Aug07), but her visa was revoked - reportedly because she attacked a photographer in London in March (08).

Although she wasn't charged by police, she has been interrogated by immigration officers on every visit to America since.

And U.S. fans aren't amused the government's actions may cause Allen to miss performances stateside.

She has been inundated with messages of support on her blog, including "this visa thing is ridiculous", "pathetic", and "that's our government for you.
