Diane Richie was charged with helping Daniel Serrano carry out Botox injections at her Beverly Hills mansion without a licence. She reportedly invited friends round to her home for the 'Botox parties', where Serrano, who called himself 'Dr Daniel', performed the anti-wrinkle injections, charging up to £500 a time.
However, the illegal operations allegedly left patients with scars and infections, with one woman claiming she was left with "holes in her face". Diane, who has been charged with aiding and abetting, insists she didn't know her lover was unqualified and was among one of his patients. She insisted the superstar singer continued to support her in the lap of luxury to which she had become accustomed to.
In the papers, the multi-millionaire star's wife said at the time: "I spend in excess of $50,000 a month for my own personal services entertainment and shopping.
In addition I spend at least $20,000 a year on plastic surgery."
Diane and Lionel married in 1996, but broke up in October 2003 due to "irreconcilable differences".
