Director M. Night Shyamalan doesn't want to be like Woody Allen - and star in all his own movies. The filmmaker is famous, like legendary director Allen, for making appearances in his movies. In his latest project, 'Lady in the Water', Shyamalan has a leading role playing the character Vick. However, he insists he isn't a frustrated actor who needs to escape from behind the camera. He said: "I have no interest in being the next Woody Allen but it felt right to be in this movie. Maybe its naïve, but I tend to treat films like little independent movies by doing what I like."In his last film, 'The Village', Shyamalan had a cameo as a security guard, while in 'Signs' he played Ray Reddy alongside Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix.
