Oliver Stone's movie Margaret Thatcher
Oliver Stone is set to make a movie about former British Prime Minister
Margaret Thatcher. The Hollywood director says he wants to make a movie documenting the life of the former premier - nicknamed the Iron Lady - because he is a huge admirer of Britain's
first female leader, now aged 79.A movie insider said: "Oliver has always been enthralled by Baroness
Thatcher.
She was one of the world's most powerful political figures and
her life has been as colourful as any superstar. He could have fun casting
Reagan - and scripting the 'were they, weren't they lovers?' storyline."Meanwhile, the legendary director - who has already produced blockbusters
about American leaders Richard Nixon and John F.Kennedy and a TV movie
about Ronald Reagan - already has an idea about who he wants to cast in the
leading role. The Oscar-winning director has revealed that he is tipping 'Deer Hunter'
star Meryl Streep for the part.
He revealed: "Margaret Thatcher is an amazing woman and a good subject for a
film. I'm thinking about Meryl Streep to play her."
