Marianne Faithfull cancels tour after collapsing

Marianne Faithfull has been forced to cancel the remainder of her European tour after collapsing in Italy.

The Sixties sex symbol, who counts rock legends Mick Jagger, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie among her ex-lovers, suffered a seizure shortly before she was due to go on stage in Milan last Wednesday (01.12.04).

She had been hoping to get back on the road after a week's rest, but her spokespeople say she now needs three months to recover fully from "chronic exhaustion."

Marianne, 57, said: "I'm sorry to have let fans down, but I'll be back."

The cancelled shows - including concerts in London, Glasgow, Dublin, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Vienna - will be rescheduled for spring 2005.

Marianne recently confessed she only worked with men she fancied on her recent album.

The star collaborated with Blur, Beck and Pulp on 'Kissin Time' but they had to fit a strict criteria before she agreed to work with them.

She said at the time: "I had to like their music a lot and know it well.

I had to really like them as people. They had to really like me.

And they had to be cute!"
