Marilyn Manson Couldn't Put Career Aside For Marriage.Shock rocker MARILYN MANSON believes his refusal to put his music aside to support his estranged wife DITA VON TEESE's burlesque career contributed to the end of their marriage.Manson admits the strip tease artist, real name Heather Sweet, put her own career on hold to support the singer during the early years of their relationship, but he didn't realise she would expect the same from him. Sweet filed for divorce last December (06), after just one year of marriage and a five year relationship prior to their wedding.Manson says, "I don't think that the relationship was... something to blame... as much as the cliches of marriage. Being expected to change, change who you are."I started to feel - and maybe this is only how I perceived it, or it's what my ex-wife genuinely expected of me - but to have to change who I am because suddenly I'm more responsible for who I am..."That and the unfortunate coincidence that her career was really taking off.
