Marlon Brando's estate battle

07-07-2006 11:50

Marlon Brando's former nurse has launched a

£2 million lawsuit against the executors of the actor's will, claiming they took away a house Brando bought for her.

Angela Borlaza - who cared for the screen legend during the last few years of his life, before he passed away in 2004 - claims executors ignored the 80-year-old actor's wishes when distributing his possessions.

The care worker insists producer Mike Medavoy and his brother-in-law Larry J. Dressler - who were in charge of organising the inheritance proceedings - illegally evicted her from a house the 'Godfather' actor had purchased for her before his death.

Medavoy and Dressler reportedly added a codicil, a legal change to the actor's will, just 13 days before Brando's death, which gave them control over the actor's estate.

Borlaza is adamant the signature on the codicil was forged and has claimed the actor - who suffered from plethora disease, which causes dementia - was too ill to sign any documents so near his death.

She also says she was not allowed to witness the codicil signing. Medavoy and Dressler chose Brando's handyman, known only as 'Sam', to serve as witness.
