Matthew McConaughey wants his son to be a professional surfer.

The 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' actor is keen for his 10-month-old son Levi to take up the water sport as soon as possible.

A source said: "Matthew is already grooming Levi for surfing.

"He figures if he keeps it up, Levi will be ready to ride the waves in a couple of years and eventually earn a living off it."

Matthew is so determined to ensure Levi is comfortable riding the waves he has had a customised surfboard designed for him.

The source added to the National Enquirer magazine: "He has even had a little surfboard made for the boy and regularly holds him on top of it while playing ocean sounds in the background."

Levi is going to have his first surf lesson when he can start walking!

Matthew's partner, Brazilian model Camila Alves, recently revealed the 39-year-old actor wants their son to follow in his ocean-loving footsteps as soon as possible.

She said: "Levi is going to have his first surf lesson when he can start walking!"
