Michael Gambon's Baby Joy

Michael Gambon has had another child with his mistress.

The 68-year-old actor - who plays Albus Dumbledore in the 'Harry Potter' films - and his 43-year-old girlfriend Philippa Hart welcomed their second baby, William, into the world yesterday (21.06.09).

The star also has a 44-year-old son with his wife of 45 years Lady Anne.

Anne knows about his relationship with Philippa, and allows the actor to split his time between their marital home in Kent, Philippa's home, and a bachelor pad in London.

delightful, but with a very short temper

A family friend said: "Philippa gave birth at a London hospital without complications and little William is a beautiful bouncing baby. It is a very strange set of circumstances worthy of a film script in itself.

"Michael is open with his wife and she accepts the second relationship, though there have been rows in the past."

Philippa and Michael's first child - named Michael - was born in May 2007.

The actor visits his second family in Chiswick, south west London, "a few times a week".

His friends describe him as "delightful", but with a "very short temper".
