Following the controversial image, Miley released a statement saying: "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about."

Less than a month later, new pictures of the actress were leaked onto the internet, showing her posing in a variety of risque photographs wearing lacy red underwear, after reportedly being taken from her MySpace account.

There's nothing wrong with photos like these. I take shots of my teen daughter in the shower (no t-shirt) and encourage her to show her sexuality. We both enjoy it!
