American Idol star Corey Clark has been arrested on drugs charges and an outstanding warrant in North Little Rock, Arizona. The R&B singer, who infamously claimed he had an affair with the reality TV show's judge Paula Abdul, was taken into police custody on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on 30 July (07).A warrant had been issued for Clark's arrest after he failed to turn up at an Arizona hearing following a 2006 arrest for trespassing and violating a court order.Clark, who was disqualified from American Idol in 2003 when he failed to reveal a previous arrest, is being held at Pulaski County jail ahead of a scheduled court appearance on Tuesday (31Jul07). His previous arrest was in 2002 when neighbours called police to the Clark residence due to a disturbance.When faced with police Clark became confrontational, however Clark claims police misconduct. He was charged with misdemeanor battery on four police officers and his sisters, and endangering a child.But Clark's sister Alysha denies that he ever hit her. In court he was charged with resisting arrest and battery upon his sister. He was sentenced to six months unsupervised probation.
