Noel Gallagher wants to beat spoof band Spinal Tap's record for drummers. The Oasis guitarist jokingly told latest sticksman Chris Sharrock - who formerly performed with the band's arch rival Robbie Williams - not to get too comfortable behind the kit on the opening night of the band's world tour in Seattle, US, on Tuesday (26.08.08).He jokingly compared Oasis to the comedy rock band - whose 1984 fictional documentary saw a rotating line-up of drummers, who all met untimely ends. Noel said: "We're trying to break Spinal Tap's record."Oasis are already onto the fourth drummer of their career. Chris follows original member Tony McCarroll, Alan White and Zak Starkey - the son of Beatles legend Ringo Starr.Noel added that his joke may be lost on lead singer brother Liam, who thought that Spinal Tap were a real band.Noel said: "He thought they were for real. We went to see them and I told him, 'You do know they are actors?' He said, 'I'm not f***ing having that', and walked off. He's never watched Spinal Tap since."
