Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson has see his star soar over the last few years and that is thanks to a single role... of course I am talking about Edward Cullen.

And that is a role that he is set to reprise this week when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 hits the big screen.

He reunites with Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan as their relationship is put the ultimate test while Bella is, once again, in huge danger.

Away from the franchise 2011 has been a quiet year for Pattinson with just one other release which came in the form of Water For Elephants.

The movie was a big screen adaptation of Sara Gruen's novel and teamed him up with Oscar winners Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz.

The movie was like Titanic at the circus it was a sweeping romance epic that, for me at least, hit all the right notes.

And while Pattinson may not have been seen too much on the big screen this year that is not to say that he hasn't been busy.

He has already completed work on Bel Ami, an adaptation of the Guy de Maupassant novel, which is directed by Declan Donnellan & Nick Ormerod.

The movie follows a young man's rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city's most influential and wealthy women.

He is joined by an all star cast that includes Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Cosmopolis is now in post production and is a movie that teams him up with filmmaker David Cronenberg.

Once again it is an all star cast that also include Jay Baruchel, Paul Giamatti, Juliette Binoche and Samantha Morton.

2012 will be brought to a close with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 which will bring down the curtain on the franchise.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is released 18th November.
