Paris and Nicole's frosty Emmys

Sparring socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie came face to face at an Emmy Awards after-show party.The 'Simple Life' co-stars, who haven't spoken to each other since Nicole reportedly played Paris's infamous sex tape at a party, were both invited to the star-studded bash at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel on Sunday night (18-05-05).But onlookers claim they kept their distance from each other all night. According to America's New York Post newspaper, Paris stayed on one side of the room with her pals Kimberly Stewart and Mary-Kate Olsen, while Nicole spent the night on the other with 'The OC' star Mischa Barton.However, Lindsay Lohan - who has remained friends with both stars - was reportedly forced to keep flitting from one group to the other to keep both Paris and Nicole happy.

A witness said: "The whole thing was hysterical"In April, Paris released a statement announcing she and Nicole were no longer friends and hinted her new best friend, Kimberly Stewart - daughter of rocker Rod - would be a perfect replacement for Nicole on 'The Simple Life'.However, it was recently revealed the pair are both contracted to make a fourth series of the reality show, even though they are no longer speaking.
