Prince is set to host an exclusive post-Oscars party on Sunday night (24.02.08).The 'Purple Rain' singer has invited a host of A-list names to the bash at his new Los Angeles home and insiders claim it will be the hottest ticket in town.One said: "Prince's bash will be the one everyone wants an invite to. He has promised an extravagant do and guests won't be disappointed."Stars set to attend the bash include Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Will Smith, Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz. Prince's post-Academy Awards bash won't have to compete with the legendary Vanity Fair party to attract star guests.The magazine has decided to scrap its annual Oscar event in support of the recent Hollywood writers' strike.The Vanity Fair party is considered the most glamorous and exclusive post-Oscars event, with a guest list strictly reserved for A-list stars and VIPs.

US TV show 'Entertainment Weekly' have also cancelled their post-Oscar bash.

The Oscars take place at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on Sunday and the ceremony is widely regarded as the biggest showbiz event of the year.
