It should be a double celebration in the Barnes household for Sarah's (Loui Batley) birthday and Kathy's (Sarah Jane Buckley) return, but a pumped up Mike (Tony Hirst) finally gets an excuse to throw Ste (Kieron Richardson) out when he finds money missing from the shop. The Barnes clan are left in turmoil when Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) abandons the family home and follows Ste into the unknown. Rhys (Andrew Moss) and Beth (Sinead Moynihan) are horrified and confused as the fact sinks in that they are brother and sister. Neville (Jim Millea) invites Beth home, but revulsion at what they have done turns the new-found siblings against each other. Max (Matt Littler) reluctantly agrees to go to dinner with the Osbornes after Steph (Carley Stenson) threatens to withhold sex unless he does. Max's awkwardness during the meal increases as his attempts to engage Newt (Nico Mirallegro) are met with silence and moody stares. Then Frankie's (Helen Pearson) tactless remark about Jack (James McKenna) turns dinner into a disastrous row.
