High School Musical star Zac Efron is desperate to appear on stage - because it's his dream to star in a production on Broadway or London's West End. Efron has already conquered the small and big screens thanks to his roles in High School Musical and Hairspray, and admits he would love to revisit his theatre roots in the near future.He enthuses, "I wish (I could get a role on Broadway). I would love to that. That would be a dream for me."Efron made his made in the surprise hit High School Musical, a television movie for the Disney Channel. The movie has been so successful that there are two sequels in the pipeline.The movie has also produced a tour and a hit album with successful singles. Efron went on to star in Hairspray, the latest musical to be adapted for the big screen, which has been another surprise hit for the young actor.His star is very much rising and he is quickly becoming the newest heart-throb in America appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone.
He has recently called on director to stop making remakes ofold musicals and to start producing original material.
