'Sin City' director Robert Rodriguez has split from his wife and business partner, Elizabeth Avellan.The film maker announced the separation to cast and crew on the set of his new movie, 'Grind House'.According to America's New York Post newspaper, he said: "This is an extremely painful time for me and my family, and Elizabeth and I very much appreciate your understanding and patience."Rodriguez went on to inform workers that the split was amicable, and that they still intend to raise their five children together and will remain partners in their production company, Troublemaker Studios.Meanwhile, the director is preparing to start work on the sequel to last year's box office smash, 'Sin City'.Angelina Jolie has already signed up for the comic book follow-up. The mother-to-be will play the role of A Dame To Kill.Rosario Dawson, who is reprising her role as sexy hooker Gail, said: "The film's kind of been postponed because Robert has been interested in Angelina Jolie for the lead."But she's very pregnant right now. So that's putting an understandable hold on the film."
