Stewart To Wed At Burton/taylor Proposal Spot.Veteran rocker ROD STEWART will reportedly wed his fiancee PENNY LANCASTER at the romantic Italian spot where RICHARD BURTON proposed to DAME ELIZABETH TAYLOR in the 1960s.The former Faces star and model/photographer Lancaster are planning their nuptials in the Italian Riviera resort of Portofino, according to British newspaper The Sun.Previous reports suggested the couple were also considering the southern Italian island of Capri.A friend tells The Sun, "It's all been planned for 16 June in Portofino."They have hired a venue in the town and he is going to charter a couple of private jets to get his guests there. It is going to cost a small fortune but he wants it to be a memorable day."Rumoured guests on the invitation list include Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish, Sir Mick Jagger and Paris and Nicky Hilton.It will be the first marriage for Lancaster, but the third for Stewart. The couple have a 17-month-old son, ALISTAIR WALLACE.Meanwhile Stewarts ex Model RACHEL HUNTER plans to ignore her marriage to ROD STEWART in her forthcoming autobiography.
Although Hunter, 37, was married to the Maggie May star for nine years and the pair have two children together, she refuses to include many details of her relationship with the ageing rocker.
She says, "I don't think my marriage would take up much of a chapter. It would probably just be the wedding date and then the end. Full stop."
