Samantha Mumba in £5m dress for Spider-Man 2

Pop star Samantha Mumba wore a £5 million diamond encrusted dress to the London premiere of 'Spider-Man 2' last night (12.7.04).The sexy star walked down the red carpet in the black web-style dress, covered in 3,000 diamonds and set off with £25 million worth of spider themed diamond jewellery.She said: "I'm so excited to be wearing it, though I'm a bit nervous because it cost so much." The Irish babe, who scotched rumours she was dating Robbie Williams, by arriving at the premiere with rap star Sisquo, was accompanied by security guards until she changed out of the dress after her show-stopping entrance.She revealed: "I've got tons of bodyguards looking out for me just in case any bits fall off." Samantha, 21, was offered the chance to wear the Scott Henshall creation, reportedly the most expensive dress ever made, after it was turned down by 'Voice of an Angel' star, Charlotte Church.The opera babe rejected the dress last month because she didn't want to upstage the film's stars, Kirsten Dunst and Tobey Maguire.

She said: "I was going to do it but I'm not anymore.

I wouldn't want to take attention away from the stars.

They should dress Kirsten Dunst in it."
