Sandra Bullock's restraining order

Sandra Bullock is trying to extend a restraining order against an obsessed fan who once pursued her across three states.The 'Miss Congeniality' star won the original order in 2003 after claiming paranoid schizophrenic Thomas Jane Weldon had trailed her around the country.The actress also revealed her unwanted admirer bombarded her with faxes, voice messages and gifts.The restraining order, which requires Weldon to stay 200 yards from the star, runs out next month, so Bullock is trying to get it extended to 2009 - or even for life.In court papers obtained by City News Service, the 41-year-old wrote she had no reason to believe Weldon "recognises that his fixation on me is delusional and that he will not resume stalking and harassing me".Her lawyer Edwin F McPherson said it was a "preventative measure".He is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "She's still concerned about it, and we're still concerned about it for her."

A court hearing has been set for May 31.
