Lawsuit dropped against Snoop Dogg

A woman has dropped a lawsuit claiming rapper Snoop Dogg drugged and raped her. Lawyers had alleged Snoop and three associates attacked the make-up artist after the star appeared on American talk show 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' in 2003. They are now calling for the lawsuit to be dismissed. No criminal charges were ever brought. According to a report in America's New York Daily newspaper, Snoop's attorney has now asked that a suit against his accuser - in which he reportedly claimed the woman had tried to extort more than $5 million by threatening to sell her story to a tabloid - be dismissed as well. Snoop's accuser confirmed in a statement "the matter has been resolved amicably".

She had filed a complaint claiming she was assaulted after working with the hip hop star on Kimmel's show.She alleged that on the last night of filming the programme she saw Snoop snort cocaine and said later at a party that night, one of the rapper's cohorts gave her what she thought was champagne. After drinking it, she said she felt she "could not move very well" and allegedly lost control of her body. She claimed she was then raped by Snoop and three other men in what she called a "party atmosphere" backstage. Snoop's publicist Meredith O'Sullivan also insisted the rapper paid "absolutely no money in the settlement".
