Sophia Loren is set to grace the cover of the famous Pirelli calendar - aged 71.
The Hollywood icon was chosen by the world famous tyre company ahead of a bevy of younger beauties.
Loren wears a see-through black dress and diamonds in the shot, which has been described as "very tasteful".
The actress - who has previously turned down dozens of offers to do revealing photo shoots - agreed to do the calendar because of its legendary reputation.
Loren is quoted in Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper as saying: "I enjoyed myself while posing. It was as if I was a little girl again."
It had been rumoured the Italian beauty would pose naked for the calendar.
But her publicist, Enrico Lucherini, is quoted in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper as saying: "Sophia is in the Pirelli calendar but she is certainly not nude.
"In the Sixties she had hundreds of offers to pose nude but she turned them all down. But she still looks fantastic now.
"She will be 72 next birthday and she still has a figure that would be the envy of women half her age, but she would never pose naked."
