Comedian Tom Green almost died while fishing off the coast of Costa Rica. The Canadian funnyman hit his head, broke two ribs but still managed to drive himself to hospital after being slammed against rocks by a giant wave.He revealed: "I was covered in blood, hardly alive. I walked past the cleaning lady. She looked at me like she was looking at a dead person. Ijust walked into my shower."It is not the first time the star - who used to be married to 'Charlie's Angels' actress, Drew Barrymore - has been overcome by the ocean.Green said in an interview with Associated Press: "I was out surfing and the waves pulled me about 14 football fields out."It took me an hour to get back into shore, and I said, 'I'm never gonna be that risky with that ocean again. I'll just go fishing.' The next day I got nailed.

"I have a tendency to leap into things, sometimes too hard. I think that definitely made me more aware. I'm looking both ways across the street more often."

Green is best known for his MTV series 'The Tom Green Show' and roles in films including 'Road Trip', 'Stealing Harvard' and 'Freddy Got Fingered'.
