Twilight movie sequel announced

Twilight’s sequel will be released in less than a year, following the film’s popularity in America.

The vampire love story, based on the bestselling book by Stephenie Meyer, has been so successful in America, that its follow-up, New Moon, is now in the pre-production stage.

Twilight, which stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, raked in almost £98 million from American moviegoers since it was released on 21st November.

Movie maker Chris Weitz has reportedly been named to take over the directing role from Catherine Hardwicke for the forthcoming follow-up.

New Moon was initially intended for release in 2010, but has been moved forward to the 20th November 2009.
