Paul McCartney chuckles every time a newcomer promises fans their act will be bigger than the Beatles - because there will never be another Fab Four. The British star admits he was amused when Oasis rockers Liam and Noel Gallagher boasted they'd become more famous than his group - because there's no such thing. He tells Newsweek magazine, "When they started out, Oasis... said they were going to be bigger than the Beatles. And I felt sorry for them. "It's a prediction that doesn't come true. It's a fatal prediction. I sort of sit by and go, 'Good luck, son.'" The band who formed in 1957 under the name The Quarrymenrelesed their first single 'Love Me Do' which only reached 17 in the charts.However it was hit after hit from this point and have become the best selling act of all time in America and in the UK they released over 40 different singles, albums and EP's that hit the number one spot.Most recently the album Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band celebrted it's 40th anniversary. The album released June 1 1967 kicked off the Summer of Love and it was the results of 129 days or 700 hours of studio time.In it's 40 years it has sold 12 millon copies.
