Which celebrity summer sun tan are you?

Which celebrity summer sun tan are you?

It is a common misconception that the British sun isn't strong enough to burn - believe me, it most certainly is. So with that in mind we're giving you a choice of some of the best products out there on the market to use and a celebrity skin type match if you're struggling to decide which factor is for you.

It can be a tricky thing, picking a suncream that keeps you protecting enough from the sun but also allows the rays to give you that sun kissed glow.

A piece of advice, if you are going away and haven't been anywhere hot for a number of years, your skin will not be used to it and is more than likely to burn. Consult a doctor on which sun cream to take.

The best advice to take if you're going away is to look after your skin before and after your holiday as well as during. It is important to exfoliate and moisturise long before you go. This will remove any dead skin cells, making it easier for the sun to reach a healthy layer of skin and will make it easier to colour. Moisturising will make sun cream more effective in sinking into the skin quicker, meaning tanning doesn't have to be a military operation.

A very fair skin type like Kate Moss needs a high factor sun cream so as to avoid redness and burning. An SPF 50+ is recommended for your first few days just to help your skin adjust to the sun.

Going for a light and silky milk will let your skin breath. This is especially good if you suffer from oily skin as it won't clog up your pores as much as a heavy lotion will. Ambre Solaire is a good highstreet brand available for around £13.

Emma Watson is the perfect example of a pale skin that also needs extra protection. British skin is not used to the sun and so starting on a good SPF30+ will help skin on holiday. If you can find yourself a protect and bronze this will help protect and colour the skin without compromising on SPF's!

Nivea around £14 in highstreet shops.

Sunkissed perfection such as Cameron's is one of the sweetest looks to come back with on holiday. Find yourself a good SPF20 and apply when first in the sun and then when needed. It's important to top up on lotion throughout the day as this will help colour as well as protect.

An extra tip: Use a tan maintainer like this one to help keep skin hydrated and avoid peeling. The softer the skin, the longer you'll keep that Cameron glow.

Either use an after sun, aloe vera or shea butter on skin.

She has one of the most beautiful complexions in Hollywood does our Eva Longoria. Her tanned, toned skin is the envy of many and if you're looking enough to tan with ease then you should be setting your sights on a Piz Buin based sun lotion.

This tan intensifier is great for locking the sun's rays and keeping your bronzed to A-list perfection.
