Victoria Beckham has revealed she is to give up her singing career. The former Spice Girl, who has enjoyed mixed solo success since the band split, says she has "lost the passion" for music and wants to concentrate on her career as a fashion designer. She said in an interview with a Spanish magazine: "I think it will be difficult for me to continue with my music career.
The music industry is not what it was. It seems to me that people will readily accept me dedicating myself to fashion. "I know that I could never become the best singer in the world but everything to do with fashion comes naturally to me. I feel passionate about design and I don't think I'll ever feel that passion for music again." The 30-year-old star - who is expecting her third child in March with footballer husband David - recently launched her own range of jeans for trendy label Rock and Republic and said she was enjoying the challenge. She said at the time: "For the first time in a long while, I feel as if I'm actually using my brain."
Victoria is the only Spice Girl not to have had a UK solo number one, despite a blaze of publicity surrounding the release of each of her singles.
Her debut album, 'Victoria Beckham', only reached number ten in the British charts, while the album she produced with hip-hop star Damon Dash was never released, as her management didn't like the style of music.
