Backdraft's Baldwin Goes Bald

BALDWIN GOES BALD FOR CHARITY Hollywood actor BILLY BALDWIN is a bald man after shaving off his hair for charity.The BACKDRAFT star became a celebrity fundraiser for neurodegenerative disease Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) three years ago (01) after he learned an old high school pal had the disease.Baldwin has been happily helping to raise cash at functions ever since, and when he was called upon to shave off his hair at a recent gala, he reached for the clippers.He says, "Some guy said, 'I'll give you 10 grand if you shave your head,' and another one said nonchalantly, 'Yeah, I'm in for 10.'"I said, 'You guys work the room and if you guys can drum up $100,000 I'll shave my head... We raised a good amount of money." But Baldwin's pregnant wife CHYNNA PHILLIPS wasn't sure about her husband's new look when he got home later that night.

She says, "I'm laying in bed the other night at about two o'clock in the morning and all of a sudden I hear somebody come through the front door; this big 6 foot 2 inch (1.87 metres) shadow of a man, a bald man, and I said, 'Billy, that better be you.'"
