Tokyo Lace Shift Dress

Tokyo Lace Shift Dress

Ever the fashion conscious, here at Femalefirst we thought we would bring you what we believe the key trends for 2011 will be.

After looking through photos of so many different collections we picked the best items and looks and thought we would share them with you.

A style to cater for every taste, every size and everyone.

- Short and skirt suits - this has to be one of my favourite looks for the new season. Particularly short suits. Elie Saab showed us how to work the look for the evening, in green sequinned suits, with a matching shirt - beautiful.

Wear with the tallest wedges you can find and you are sure to stand out amongst the crowd. This look is great for the office to, wear light fabrics to cope with the heat, that will hopefully come.

- Tea dresses - pretty, light, floral. Something that you can expect to see year after year for the summer time. Erdem Moralioglu has perfected the style of the printed dress and his top tip for wearing one is to pile hair into a high bun and wear lashings of red lipstick. Easy.

- White denim - Alexander Wang shows us time and time again why he is the go-to person for fashionable sportswear. His spring collection features white denim, something that could be considered fashion no-no but he manages to pull the looks off with ease, pairing with loose, light layers. Marl grey works great with this.

- Citrus - the colours to add a little pop into spring. Last year the colour palette was pastels as dictated by Christopher Bailey at Burberry, this season he has muted clothing paired with citrus accessories in the forms of skinny belts and slouched clutches are easy to wear.

If you fancy dresses in orange and yellow head to Paul and Joe who have created easy to wear jersey pieces.

- Colour blocking - a firm favourite, colour blocking is easy to do and suits everyone. You can pick the colour that suits you most and wear it head-to-toe.

The same shade of colour works, as does different shades. Or if you think that it's too much just use the same colour bag and opt for a nude pair of shoes to help break it up.

- Paperbag waists - these create the illusion of a smaller waist. Something that we all seem to strive for. They look great with blouses, vests or tees tucked into them and they work on everything from skirts, to shorts and pants.

Emma Hill shows us why Mulberry was named British Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, pairing paperbag waists denim culottes with an orange shirt perfect for work or the afternoon shopping.
