Danni was thrilled after the open auditions to find that she would mentor the boys. No this isn’t because she’s in search of a husband, but because the boys simply shined from day 1 and it became obvious they stood a good chance of winning. One of the three males in Dannii’s group is confident 24 year old Rhydian Roberts from Wales, one person who was almost certain he wouldn’t get into her final three due to her comments towards him earlier on in the competition. However Dannii overcome her feelings towards Rhydian and gave him a chance, after all she wants to win and he has the voice. As a classical singer obviously in touch with his sensitive side, some of the judges said he made them feel sick. Will this be the case with the public? Or will they love him?Andy Williams is Dannii’s middle act, being younger than Rhydian and Older than Leon at 22. Also from Wales Andy’s day job is for an asbestos removal company, where he works with his brother. He hasn’t yet “flown the nest” as he still lives in his family home. He’s hard not to adore with his brown hair and brown eyes, a baby face and a caring personality. He’s hoping to impress Brain Friedman.West Lothian star is Leon Jackson, the youngest in Dannii’s group. He works as a sales assistant for Gap, and claims he’s doing the contest “for his mum”. At first in the competition mentor Dannii wasn’t sure about him, although he had a good voice, because of the movements he makes with his arms when singing. Do you think Danni has made the right decision keeping him? For Sharon, she chose 23 year old receptionist Alisha Bennett from London, who was inspired to enter by watching Leona Lewis, winner of X Factor 2006. Alisha hasn’t tried to hide her emotions so far on the show, at boot camp and in the auditions it has been like a rollercoaster for her and she has been quite upset because she wants it so much. Although having singing lessons for the past year and having little to fault about her voice, Sharon wasn’t 100 % about Alisha as she may be perceived as being older than she actually is, because of her image and Sharon is mentoring the under 25 girls not over.Possibly Sharon’s favourite out of her three girls is Kimberley, 19 year old bar worker in her parent’s pub, from the west Midlands. She loves country music and has a larger than life personality saying, in her first audition, whilst bouncing around; she was so hyper because she’d had “red bull”. Then screaming as Sharon put her through to the second round and being described as “the most annoying contestant ever” by Simon, but Sharon seemed to think she was fun. Kimberley is probably best known for shrieking and making funny, peculiar facial expressions when she was nervous, excited, sad etc. Sharon has taken a risk putting her through as she is best described like marmite, the public will either love her or hate her.Youngest performer in the competition is Sharon’s third contestant, Emily Nakanda aged just 15, but with an outstanding voice. Even more shocking is that the judges were speechless when she auditioned at the age of 14. Simon complimented Emily by saying she was the reason the “age range was lowered”. Living in North London with her family, Emily has performed at her school and church. Her dreams came true, even more than the others finding out she had made it into the final 12, as last year she had a brush with death after contracting Peritonitis. The public are bound to love Emily, she’s a fighter with a smile.Louis thought he was extremely unlucky this year by getting the over 25’s, having heard them perform miserably in the auditions. But when the shortlists visited his house he felt more confident. Beverley Trottman was one of the over 25’s Louis picked, for his three. The 37 year old primary school teacher from Luton was one of the few older contestants that stunned the judges at her first audition. Beverley has two children and would love to win for them and those that she teaches. We have already seen the pupil enthusiasm towards her when the X Factor camera crew went to her school as she revealed to them she had made it to boot camp.

34 year old catering manager Niki Evans is hoping to “steam” through the live shows and impress Louis. Niki’s dad had recently passed away when she first auditioned and it was only then she discovered his real belief and dreams for her, when she found an application form for the X Factor in his belongings. She had no trouble flying through the auditions after she wowed viewers and judges. Niki has found it hard believing in her singing abilities but I’m sure the public will wonder why, when she sings live on Saturday.

Louis’s final “over 25” is Daniel De Bourg, 31 year old ballet tutor. Daniel has already had a shot of fame when in 2001 and he was asked to work with R-Kelly, but when DreamWorks were bought out his hope for stardom was flattened. Daniel wants to win X Factor for his 3 year old son, who he sees weekly.

Simon had a really tough decision deciding his three finalists, but was happy when he finally made the choice. Same difference are a duo, brother and sister, who grew on Simon throughout the earlier parts of the competition. Sean and Sarah Smith, 21 and 18 live in Portsmouth with their family and are very close and always seem to be happy. Sean has been a ship entertainer and Sarah is a student. To be a singer was the pairs ambition from an early age so why not got together and perform with each other, who they feel most comfortable with.

Up next is Simon’s second group “Hope”. The 5 gorgeous girls started off as 6 individual contestants and when all of them got booted out of the auditions Sharon, Dannii and Louis had an idea of giving them the chance to form a group in which they were over the moon about and impressed the judges enough to get put through. An idea Simon originally thought “would not work”. However at boot camp it was unveiled that one of the group, in the past had been convicted if a criminal offence which is strictly against the X Factor rules, so then 6 became 5. The 5 are; Raquelle Gracie,20, Phoebe Brown,16, Charlie Mole,23, Emily Biggs,17 and Leah Lauder,20.

The third group Simon picked is Future proof, who are the same deal as the girl group above, a 5 piece boy group who auditioned individually, then given the chance to form a group. Simon really thought the boys worked well together. The boy’s determination shows through in their performances. The boys making up Future proof are; Mathew Protheroe,17, Sean Rumsey,20, Richard Wilkinson,23, Adam Chandler,21 and Aaron Deahunty,19.
