The 43-year-old actress - who played Legless Suzi in 'America Horror Story: Freak Show' - passed away after contracting an infection following kidney stone surgery, TMZ reported and her co-stars encouraged fans to donate money to help her two children.

Sarah Paulson tweeted: "The AHS family lost one of our own... Rose Siggins was an absolute light... I will never forget your laugh or your beautiful eyes. Please consider helping to support her family at this difficult time. Two more spectacular children never existed. https://gofundme.com/RoseSiggins."

Gabourey Sidibe shared Sarah's tweet and wrote: "So sorry to hear of the passing of Rose Siggins. I pray for her children. Please donate if you can."

Denis O'Hare added: "Today we mourn Rose Siggins who died today. Please consider helping the two children she leaves behind," while Mat Fraser tweeted: "Deep sadness to announce the passing of Rose Siggins (Suzy) this AM. Please donate if you can (sic)."

Rose was born with the condition sacral agenesis (or hypoplasia of the sacrum), a congenital disorder in which there is abnormal fetal development of the lower spine.

The condition caused her to suffer with kidney and pancreas problems throughout her life and she passed away in a hospital in Denver on Saturday.

A message on the fundraising page set up to raise money for her children reads: "I'm sad to report that Rose has passed away this morning around 7:30am. All funds raised will now be directed to final expenses and the continuing support of her children.

"I suppose Elsa Mars said it best: 'The death of a beloved monster is always a sorrow, but never a surprise. If oddly-formed organs or a random physical anomaly doesn't claim them, then it is at the sheer density of their blaze. A carny's life burns and brighter than most. It is bound to extinguish sooner.'"
