The 'One Show' presenter has revealed she's undergone an ultrasound and a blood test as part of her new show 'The Truth About Fertility', which will air in the summer, because she's concerned she only has a small window to fall pregnant after her mother went through early menopause.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "It's useful to know because we shouldn't hang about, but at the end of the day, what can you do? You hope it will happen. It might, it might not. The more pressure you put on yourself, the worse it becomes, because the one thing you want gets further out of reach. I haven't chosen to leave it until I'm 39 - that is the situation I have found myself in."

The brunette beauty married her husband Charlie Thomson last year and is desperate to start a family with him but wishes she'd known more about egg freezing beforehand.

Speaking about her show, Alex said: "I didn't know enough about egg freezing to have made a decision before."

However, Alex recently said she would be absolutely "devastated" if she found out she couldn't conceive naturally.

She said recently: "I am under no illusion that if it proved to be difficult, if I couldn't conceive naturally, it would be absolutely horrific. I would be pretty devastated. But I don't regret a thing [about waiting until I was 39 to settle down]."
