The 'Poison' hitmaker, 67, started his rock career at a time when people were free of electronic devices and mobile telephones were a feature of science fiction and has now revealed he hates being tied down to his, which is why he misplaces it every single day.

He said: "I lose my phone probably twice a day and it's because I really don't like it. I don't like the idea that you're locked into this thing which your whole world revolves around."

But Alice accepts he can't get away without actually having a phone because his wife Sheryl Goddard - whom he has been married to since 1976 and has three grown-up children, Calico, Dashiell and Sonora, with - would be left wondering where he is all the time.

However, he only carries a basic device as he doesn't need it for anything other than making calls.

He added in an interview with Q magazine: "I just carry a little flip-phone to call my wife and kids or my road manager, not the sort that can call in air strikes on Iraq like most people have.
